Grieving a Loss
The Center for Grief & Loss
Although it may feel like no one understands how you’re feeling, turn to the Center for Grief & Loss. The Center offers support to anyone who has experienced a loss. All services are available to the community.
We know reaching out when you are feeling the grief of a loss is difficult. We will help you formulate a plan that will provide you with support to help you go through this difficult time and beyond. We encourage you to call us.
What to Expect
We offer individual counseling and various support groups. It is our practice to bring new clients in to see a counselor individually first. If joining a loss support group becomes desirable the counselor can provide details and make a referral to the group. It is our practice to support clients on an individual basis until at least 60 days from the time of the death to allow the client the individual time to focus on their own loss before starting group.
Counseling for Minors
It is our practice to schedule a call with the minor child’s parent or guardian prior to seeing the child. This call allows the counselor and parent a time to exchange information about our services, the parents’ concerns and history of the child. During this phone appointment a plan will be developed for support for the child and an appointment for the child may be arranged.
Hours
Our typical hours for individual counseling are Monday – Friday, 9am to 4pm (start of last appointment).
Location
Our grief support counseling is provided in our offices at 4850 Union Ave, right off of highway 85 near Los Gatos.
Cost
As a non-profit agency we gratefully accept donations but there is no fee for grief counseling services.
