Patricia Campbell:

From the Junior League's Volunteer Recognition Luncheon Program published by Valley Scene.

Pat Campbell's desire to interact with the dying with dignity and peace in a loving environment led to her remarkable volunteer service with Hospice of the Valley. Hospice of the Valley provides high quality, home-based hospice care and grief support for terminally ill individuals and their families in Santa Clara County.

Pat feels comfortable in situations that other volunteers find impossible to handle. There has never been an assignment that Pat has undertaken where she has not remained calm, professional, and above all, compassionate. pat is a born leader, one whom other volunteers continually look to for guidance, wisdom, and experience. She helps with training programs and mentors new volunteers as they undertake the challenging task of supporting families suffering from terminal illness.

Although she works full time in the District Attorney's office, has heavy family-care responsibilities and is currently managing her own health care concerns, Pat makes herself available. She volunteers in the evenings and on weekends, attends regular support meetings, and helps with Community Outreach efforts. She has spend many weekends staffing Hospice of the Valley's booth at health fairs and church events. Pat is an amazingly resilient and committed volunteer who gives so much of herself to help others.
