November is National Hospice & Palliative Care Month, a time to celebrate the kind of care that helps patients and family caregivers find comfort, love and respect when they’re needed most.

There are many ways you can help:

• Make a Contribution – It is because of the generosity of donors that we able to provide expert care and support services to all families in the community, regardless of ability to pay.
• Attend or sponsor an event – Check out our events calendar!
• Volunteer – Become a part of the team!  Whether in a direct patient care capacity or a support function, we offer thorough training and orientation for each role and responsibility.
• Share your story – The Hospice of the Valley Facebook page is a great place to share your experience. Or, if you’d prefer, send your written comments to the Marketing & Public Relations department at Hospice of the Valley or contact us to set up an interview via email or at 1.408.559.5600.
• Write a review - You have an opportunity to help others learn about the difference our palliative care, hospice and grief counseling services make in the lives of children, adults and families in our community. GreatNonprofits, a site that allows people to write, share, and read reviews of nonprofit organizations, is honoring highly reviewed nonprofits with their 2012 Top-Rated Awards. Will you help us raise visibility for our work by posting a review of your experience with us? All reviews will be visible to the general public- including potential donors and volunteers. It's easy and only takes 3 minutes! Hospice of the Valley needs 10 positive reviews by November 15 in order to receive a 2012 GreatNonprofits Top-Rated Award. • Request an educational presentation for a community group Hospice of the Valley has a team of volunteers and staff members ready to speak on topics such as hospice care, advance health care directives, grief, and much more.
• Discuss your end-of-life wishes with a loved one Review an advance health care directive.
